I am Solenn Ryan, a native French woman married to an Irish farmer. We live on a farm in Co. Laois, Ireland.
I have studied Chinese, German, Russian and linguistics in Paris 6 University and I have been involved as a French teacher in the Modern Languages in Primary Schools Initiative (MLPSI) for the last 15 years. I have also taught French in secondary schools and in the Alliance Française of Kilkenny and I have been examiner for the Leaving cert French oral examinations several times. I have many years’ experience of giving grinds. I have also taught English as a foreign language to non-national children.
In 2013, I was the official translator for the Oireachtas (Irish Parliament) during the Irish Presidency of the European Union.
I organise bilingual French-English language camps for children and teenagers. I give grinds to all levels from 1st year to 6th year and I organise revision courses for Leaving Cert students. I also teach French in several primary schools.
